Native to the planet Arbaza (also known as Arbazan), the Arbazan species is a long-time member of the Federation, first encountered by Starfleet nearly two hundred years ago.

The Arbazan are a fairly restrained species, typically characterised as being cautious and habitual, and resistant to change. They are not known for being a reckless or impulsive species; instead, their methodical approach and usual familiarity with the status quo has led to a number of representatives finding their way into diplomacy, politics, and law.
