[edit] BACKGROUND

The prodigy child of his family, Calvin Adams is one of four, third born in the Adams family and the only boy. He spent majority of his time on New Parris Island when he could learning everything possible about tactical warfare from the then Commandant of the Marine Corps a good friend of the family. His childhood was more like a prep school as he very rarely without an operations manual or Marine proceedure padd in his hands.

His father would often train him and his younger sister the same way he trained his men, and at a very young age they became perfectly bred Marines. Calvin unlike his sister though was a strategic genius which allowed him to move a bit faster in his training than his sister who surpassed him with any kind of fire arm. Both though were exceptional.

After highschool Calvin enrolled immediately into the Academy. A few months later he made friends with a fighter pilot who was just as tactical as he was, just not better. The academy was good to Calvin, he followed right behind his father's footsteps making or surpassing some of his father's acheivements. One thing he couldn't best was Jessica and any sniper rifle she could get her hands on, but she had nothing on him for how he set up teams and mission completion status.

During his time in the academy Calvin met a stunning science officer. They dated up unto his senior year and he had planned to marry her even before he found out she was carrying his child. After graduation their daughter was born but they were sent to different ships where Calvin was handed a Platoon to command straight out the gate. Two months later they were killed the result of their deaths took its toll on Calvin causing him to take an extended leave to get his head on straight. One of the things that Calvin did best was bounce back and upon his return quickly climbed the ranks on the USS Hyperion where he is to this day.

CHILDHOOD

Already having two children was enough for any person in Starfleet let alone two of Starfleet's finest Special Forces Officers. Yet Major Calvin Adams and Marine Captain Samantha Adams proceeded to increase their family from four to five. Melissa and Sarah would soon get a little brother to torture. Calvin Michael Adams Junior was born in Brooklyn, New York during summer leave.

As a child, Calvin was always interested in two things, physical fitness, and guns. When he was old enough to go he would often travel with is parents to Parris Island and watch the marines train. If he wasn't down in South Carolina, he was with his grandfather in Buffalo, New York learning how to properly handle a rifle and hunting on occasion, so like any little boy's life it was filled with lots of time out doors enjoy the world around him.

TEEN YEARS

Having the family background that he had, made life a bit more interesting for young Calvin. Especially when he entered high school, as he attended the same high school his older sisters attended before him. In his freshmen year Calvin knew that he would have to do one of two things, transfer schools or find a program that would allow him to keep his mind off of the attention that he was getting, especially from some of the girls. With that he decided to play both football, making the varsity team and track.

This was the best way for him to keep his focus and keep his grades up in high school, it also kept him in great shape. However coming into his sophmore year he had grabbed the attention of and soon dated a young lady by the name of Amber Knowles. They would only date for a few months though as most high school relationships rarely last and Calvin would continue on being an all american in football and an academic all american as well.

Even though Calvin seemed to have a good chance of going to any other college in the world, come his senior year he knew he would sign up for Starfleet and become a Marine like everyone else in his family. At seventeen he was already set, and since he knew how most Marines trained that entire year he dedicated his time to training for the academy. This would prove to be the most important move he could make setting him head and shoulders above everyone in his class.

THE ACADEMY AND BEYOND

Going in Calvin knew that he would have to live up to the name he carried. To him it was a welcomed challenge to others it looked as if he was just another privledge military brat who would coast his way to an easy A. That however did not happen, the one thing Calvin had going for him other than being one of the best fit Marines at the time was being very strategic. He knew how to set things up for the best, and he hated losing so he did everything in his power to make sure he never did.

During his first year there Calvin was almost a loner. He didn't make friends and didn't try to make friends, but there was one guy that seemed to just click with Calvin, that man was Jacob Conrad a fellow Marine. Jacob was a lot like Calvin focused, but he also enjoyed having fun and eventually managed to get Calvin to even out and let loss a little.

As the two progressed through the Academy, they developed a good partnership and even were paired on multiple training missions, scoring the highest marks of any team in their class. It wasn't long before the two were drawing the attention of some of the top brass as well. They also however had one other thing in common, Jacob was in love with Calvin's youngest sister, and Calvin was in love with Jacob's youngest sister Samantha Conrad a science cadet.

Calvin however was a bit withdrawn in talking to her, she was one of the smartest women in their graduating class. But after a little coaxing from another good friend of theirs J.R. Robinson, he got up the nerve to ask her out. The two dated up until their graduation when Calvin proposed and she announced she was carrying his child, a little girl. Unfortunately Calvin would not get the chance to marry Sam nor would he see the birth of their child as he was assigned to a classified mission immediately after graduation.

Upset at the assignment Calvin tried to make the most of out if, but he knew that it was the best for her considering it was a strictly science vessel and she was in the top 5% of her class in mircobiology and astronomy. Their daughter Ayana was born in the winter 2377. But he would not see her for two years later when he was reassigned to the U.S.S Lancelot.

Calvin waisted no time catching up with his then two year old daughter, taking ever shore leave he could to see them on the starbase. Though the two never got married, it seemed like every time they tried Calvin would get recalled, it would be the one regret he would have in his entire life. In 2381 Calvin would lose the chance to finally make her his wife, due to a science lab explosion that destroyed the lab and killed Sam and Ayana. The fleet neglected to say whose fault the explosion was which gave Calvin no closure. After their funeral Calvin dissappeared taking some time off for himself and not telling anyone, not even his family were he was going.

One year later, Calvin made his way back into the fleet being assigned to one of the more dangerous ships in the fleet, the U.S.S Hyperion NCC 7438-E in a Marine detachment unit. This would be the place were his career would take off for good. He quickly made 1st Lieutenant and the was promoted to Assistant Company Commander.

Calvin also made sure that as he moved up to the ranks of senior officer he got along with his few senior officers. Becoming good friends with a then Lieutenant Commander Tom Waterford, and soon after that the new CMO a then Lieutenant Jim Roys. He had also earned the respect of his CO Admiral Hope Thornton and XO Commander Gaines. He would also cement his legacy on the Hyperion after covering the tactical station during an intense mission and showing that he wasn't just good with a phaser but a whole weapon system.

This display of heroism and quick thinking would also earn him a spot as the ships next XO after Commander Gaines was promoted to Captain and given his own commission, this would turn out to be were his youngest sister Jessica would end up.

He also drew the eye of a pilot Rose O'Malley. But that relationship was all fizzle and no stability, the two rushed into marriage after Calvin found out she was pregnant with his second child another girl. Rose would soon be discharged from the fleet, taking his daughter with her. He tried to keep an eye on her through his family and they eventually gained custody of Rasha thanks to a few strings pulled by his eldest sister Melissa.

It wasn't long before things changed around the ship as well, with the departure of his friend and colleague Commander Barry Frisco, the Hyperion would gain a new Chief Engineering Officer, Commander Raven Kiera a half Vulcan half Deltan. Something about her seemed interesting to Calvin and it wasn't much longer that the XO found himself flirting with and being flirted with the young Chief.

The command seat was a nice feel but took Calvin to far out of the way from being in the field, it just didn't fit the Marine that and he didn't like having to wear Naval ranks. So two years and two promotions later Calvin requested to go back to the field, he was denied however for the reason that Fleet Captain Thornton was being reassigned and Commanders Waterford and Roys were being promoted to acting CO and XO respectively. The fleet also felt that Calvin was a better asset to the Hyperion and gave him the option to become Chief Diplomatic Officer and Hazard Team CO.

This would prove to be a good move as his friend Tom would also ask him to jump up to the ranks of 2nd Officer. His relationship with Raven also progressed as he found himself spending a lot more time with her. Even taking a nice vacation to a resort on Gedi Prime during a shore leave. This would get the ball rolling on a relationship that would soon blossom into Raven actually beating Calvin to the punch and asking him to marry her.

Calvin and Raven Kiera are now married.

ATTITUDE: Calvin has been compared to a lot of people in his career. Most say he has the mild mannered attitude of Sisko others say he's more like Riker. No matter what Calvin's attitude usually stays the same its devoted to duty.

PERSONALITY: Calvin is usually a good person to get along with unless you are in a training session and you are one of his subbordinates. Other than that he likes to remain personable thinking that most crew members respond better when the senior staff can show they have at least a human side to them.

When he isn't training or going over old missions trying to figure out what could be done differently. Then he's usually in his room. He has an affinity for Japanese Martial Arts and history and does a lot of studying on the samurai.
