Cassidy Russell

Lieutenant Russell is the current Chief Medical Officer for the USS Cambrian. She has 14 years experience in Starfleet, including service aboard five different starships.

Cassidy Louise Russell was born 18 April 2353 to her parents, Starfleet Officers Commander Marcus Rowan Russell and Lieutenant Commander Patricia Amanda Russell (nee Walker), during a holiday in London, United Kingdom with their eldest daughter Esther Sandra Wilkinson. Cassidy and her sisters Esther and Olivia spent most of their childhood mostly with relatives. Lieutenant Russell's father was among the 11,000 souls that perished in 2367 during the Battle of Wolf 359. He assumed command of the Freedom-class USS Firebrand (NCC-68723) in the field. Records show he was the Firebrand's commanding officer for a total of fifteen minutes.

Lieutenant Commander Patricia Amanda Russell chose to opt-out for early retirement to become the primary caretaker of her children after her husband's death. The family resided in Vancouver, Canada. Cassidy Russell remembered the passionate stories her father told her about Starfleet's achievements in humanitarianism and peacemaking to exploring strange new worlds and seeking out new life and civilizations. He told her he'd allow her to enlist on her eighteenth birthday. Going against her overprotective mother's wishes she enlisted in Starfleet. Her mother would later accept her daughter's enlistment in Starfleet and encourage her to undertake medicine.

Cassidy Louise Russell enlisted in Starfleet on her eighteenth birthday in accordance to her father's wishes. She arrived several months early before the opening fall semester and familiarized herself with the San Francisco area. During her first year at the Academy she excelled at her courses. She fell inspired with the seminar on medical professions in Starfleet and made her career choice. She would put in an application to attend the independent Starfleet Medical Academy and was accepted on the recommendation of an instructor who had taken academic interest in her abilities.

After the Breen surprise bombardment of the San Francisco metropolitan area, she was quick to volunteer to assist at impromptu Medical Treatment Centers where she would get lots of hands on experience for combat-related injuries. Cassidy Russell graduated from Starfleet Medical Academy in 2377. She was credited for her good character and will be a strong advocate of the UFP Charter.

Cassidy Louise Russell received a commission of Ensign and assigned aboard the USS Excalibur from 2377-2379. She was promoted to Lieutenant JG and reassigned aboard the USS Spectre from 2379 to 2381. She was promoted to full Lieutenant following her departure from the USS Spectre when she was reassigned to the USS Britannia as Assistant Chief Medical Officer. She placed in a request for a transfer after several disagreements and complaints logged against the Chief Medical Officer assigned on board. She would be transferred to the USS Cambrian after a two month Leave of Absence visiting her mother and sister back on Earth.
