The Deputy Commander-in-Chief (DCinC) is the second highest-ranking official within Sixth Fleet's command structure and is a member of the Senior Staff.

The DCinC is elected for one year terms by majority vote of the Fleet Command Senate. An incumbent DCinC maybe reelected once there fore serving for two years before mandatory retirement. They maybe reelected in the future as long as it is at least one year since there last term. There term as DCinC has no bearing on possible election to the position of Commander-in-Chief. They hold the rank of Admiral for the duration of that term.

The Current Deputy Commander-in-Chief Sixth Fleet is James Slattery elected by the Senate February 2011, his current term will expire February 2012 at which time he will be eligible for election for a second term.
