[edit] BACKGROUND

Edward was born in Blackburn, United Kingdom to Janet and William Davidson in August 2258. Just after his first birthday his father, William, accepted a job working at the Utopia Planeta Shipyards on Mars. Edward remained with his parents on Mars until his parents separated close to his 11th birthday. At which time Edward returned to live on Earth with his mother. Edward blamed his father for the break up and over time his relationship with his father broke down. Edward was due to visit his father on Mars after he graduated High School, for a few months but he never made it to Mars, instead he took off deciding that he was better on his own. At the age of 16 he started work as a shuttle pilot running between Earth and the moon, it was not the best job in the world but to a young Edward it was cash in his pocket and the galaxy was his oyster. During the two years he worked as a pilot he met a former Starfleet Officer by the name of Cen Jacques. Jacques saw potential in the boy and over time convinced him that Starfleet would suit him well. At first Edward was not so sure, he was enjoying the freedom that he had and felt Starfleet would restrict him. The Dominion War changed that, Edward was asked to make a supply run for Starfleet, the pay was good and Edward accepted. The run started with no problems but when he arrived at his destination he saw the effects the war was having on Starfleet. Edward could not sit back any longer while people were giving their lives for his freedom. By the time Edward enrolled in Starfleet Academy the war was over, but he was still determined to put something back in to the fleet. Edward worked hard during his time at the academy, he finished 34th in his class. Upon Edward’s graduation he was assigned to the USS Edison as Assistant Chief Operations Officer. Edward was soon promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade and appointed as the USS Edison’s Chief Operations Officer. The plaudits kept coming for the young officer and in April 2382 Edward was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and entered in to the Starfleet Command School Program. In the next few months though Edward’s world was shaken, after the USS Edison returned from World War II, Temporal Investigations removed Captain Sturak and Commander Furry from their posts as CO and XO respectively. This left Edward as de facto Commanding Officer of the USS Edison until Starfleet appointed a new CO. Upon the appointment of a new Commanding Officer, Edward was assigned as ‘Acting’ Executive Officer. Edward only spent a few months as Executive Officer until a more suitable replacement was found. Edward was not bothered by this as he was happy to return to his post as Chief Operations Officer along with a promotion to Lieutenant Commander

After a year on the USS Edison Edward was transferred to the USS New Jersey, to take up the position of Chief Engineering Officer, after a year working on the bridge of a Starship Engineering was a nice change of scenery. During his time he started a relationship with the New Jersey’s Chief CONN Officer. The New Jersey’s CO was not comfortable with two members of his senior staff being in a relationship. Edward decided that he would take the next possible transfer so that he could maintain his relationship. That transfer came when Camp Phoenix, on New Deridous needed a Chief Engineering Officer. While on New Deridous, Starfleet handed over control of the planets defence to the New Deridous Colonial Guard. Edward was asked to remain on New Deridous to help over see the set up of the Guard. During his time on New Deridous Edward completed the Starfleet Command School Progam. Once Edward had finished with the NDCG he was assigned to the USS Ark Royal as Executive Officer. His Girlfriend also transferred to the Ark Royal as the Wing Commander. Edward, had mentioned to the Ark Royal’s CO that he and the new Wing Commander were in a relationship but unlike the CO of the New Jersey the Ark Royal’s CO was okay with the fact as long as Edward and the Wing Commander did not let their relationship interfere with their jobs, if it did then the Ark Royal’s CO said he would not hesitate to send them both to opposite ends of the galaxy.
