These three children were Nick’s children by his first wife, who died shortly after Lee was born. All three of Nick’s children died in the destruction of Deridous IV in 2382

Amanda was very protective of her two younger siblings. The only one to remember their mother before she died, Amanda had problems relating to the other four co-parents of the group sometimes. She watched after her younger brother and sister well, but as a typical teen, often yearned for some freedom of her own.
[edit] Dusty
Dusty was always very helpful around the house. She was a 'little mother', always trying to take care of Lee. She was rather quiet, and often escaped noticed simply by taking care of herself. One of her favorite activities was cooking with her father, Nick.

Lee was always the class clown, acting foolish and trying to get everyone to laugh and relax. His high energy level and extreme curiosity, however, often led him into trouble. His older siblings had their hands full keeping tabs on him.

- Allendo was the second child adopted by the family group. Orphaned suddenly on Earth, he had no family on Bajor to return to, so he joined the Etains. As the oldest child, Allendo felt a responsibility to act as a second father to the younger children, especially when Nick wasn't around. After the destruction of Deridous IV, however, Allendo fell into the wrong kind of company, hanging out with mercenaries and other rough folk.

- Victoria is Maria’s daughter. She is the self-appointed spokesperson of the family. Friendly and vivacious, she never lets anything slow her down. When Denise needs someone to act as a speaker for her, Victoria is always the first to volunteer. She's never met a stranger.

- Sage is a Human/Selvelvian (also nicknamed ‘elves’) who was abandoned by his mother after birth and adopted by the Etains before they left Earth. He has not yet developed ‘The Knack’, a legacy of his father’s people, but with his sweet smile is still able to get what he wants most of the time. He is very tall compared to humans of his age – most Selvelvians are very tall and lanky, as well as extremely attractive.
