James has been part of Sixth Fleet since it's creation, previous to that he was a member of Tango Fleet since March 2005. His first character was Ensign James Xavier who after a very short stint on the Edison moved to the Cambrian as Deputy Chief Security and Tactical Officer, eventually being promoted to Chief Security and Tactical Officer with the rank of Lieutenant Commander. In 2006 he assumed command of the USS Bismarck, as then-Lieutenant Commander Alexandra Kane. He currently still commands the Bismarck, now as Commodore Paul Shepherd. He has served on many of the simulations in the Fleet including the Cambrian, the Oberon, SB 418, the Pegasus, the Hyperion, Bravo Company, the Saturn, the Arc Angel, SWORD 7, the Frontier, Dorvan V and others.

February 9, 2011 he was elected to the position of Sixth Fleet Deputy Commander-in-Chief by the Sixth Fleet Senate.

Out of Character James is an Academy Instructor, and Registered Instructor aboard the Bismarck. He previously served as the Task Force Advisor for Task Force 2 and chaired the Sixth Fleet Strategic Security Corps. He also serves as an advisor on many of the fleets Corps and Bureaus. Outside of Sixth Fleet he is also active in the Stargate themed sim group Stargate: The Next Generation.
