Kane is a member of the Klingon Species. He is slightly shorter than Klingon average, but still slightly taller than human average. He normally keeps his head shaved - useful as both a hunter and a marine when on a wilderness planet. He last served as Marine Platoon Commander aboard the USS Athena.
[edit] BACKGROUND
Kane, of the House of Urissig, was Born in 2356 on the planet Morska in the Klingon Empire.
In 2361, his parents (his father, K'loth is an eco-biologist and his mother, Beyon' is a diplomat) were assigned to the La Paz Collaborative Scientific Outpost, she as Assistant Director, and he as an Ecologist and teacher.
When the La Paz facility was shut down in 2366, Kane moved with his mother back to Qo’nos where she worked with the Vulcan Ambassadorial delegation and his father served a stint as Science Officer aboard the Imperial Klingon Vessel Tiq Lung.
After three years on Qo’nos both parents were able to request joint assignments. The family moved to Vulcan where his mother was Ambassador to Vulcan and his father worked at the Vulcan Academy of Sciences as a lecturer and Adjunct Professor. Finishing his early education on Vulcan, Kane completed his second Age of Ascension in late 2372 and left for the Klingon Empire to finish his secondary education.
Conscripted into service by the Klingon Military during the Dominion War, Kane saw action with a Marine Recon Unit rising to the Klingon equivalent enlisted rank of Sergeant.
After the war, Kane spent some time exploring the galaxy on his own, but eventually he came to believe the best way to really explore was to enter the Federation's Starfleet. Using his impressive war record and contacts from his mothers diplomatic office, Kane was able to gain acceptance to Starfleet Academy in 2376.
Graduating with a Marine specialization and managing an undergraduate in Ecology, Kane's first assignment after his Cadet Cruise was aboard the Galaxy-class Cruiser Saturn, serving as Special Operations Squad Leader for the Sixth Fleet Marine Corps. Only a few months into the tour, the Saturn was destroyed in a battle with Pirates. Kane was soon reassigned to the USS Martalis, a Sabre-class patrol boat, assigned to the Breen border.
After a two-year tour aboard Martalis, Kane was reassigned and placed as Marine Platoon Commander, USS Athena, a Galaxy-class starship patrolling near Gorn space due to recent political changes in the Gorn Hegemony.

[edit] APPENDICES
Kane is my first attempt at a Sim.
Klingon's have always been my favorite Star Trek race, but seeing as they've been played or written about almost to death, I decided to go with a slightly different direction. Not much to be sure, because, well, he is a Klingon and they work best as combatants of some ilk. And also because as a newbie to Sims, I felt it best to run something I could fall into the role of easily - so, no Klingon Chef or Doctor.
During the various series' we've been exposed to several long-running Klingons, Worf being most famous - but I always thought other Klingons reactions to Worf were priceless - to be honest, he isn't a very good "Klingon". The reason I say this is because he views his people from afar - Like we might romanticize Knights in Shining Armour - noble warriors on white steeds, fighting for the honour of their lady-fair. . .and all that. But the true story often consisted of dirty, smelly, illiterate, people with holier-than-thou attitudes, backstabbing and pillaging. While that might be a bit extreme, I think it gets the point across.
Klingons, as Dax pointed out, are individuals - like humans, they are as different amongst themselves as we are. K'ehlyr refers, much to Worf's astonishment, to "...Klingon crap." And even Worf's own brother Kurn eventually gets to the point where he pretty much rolls his eyes and placates Worf when he gets his dander up - as if to say, "Yeah yeah, we know, we know. You're honorable. No, I don't want to fight you over it."
I decided to go with a Klingon raised by a scientist and a diplomat. His own interests are hunting and exploring. He would be quite content simply exploring strange new worlds (without any new civilizations). But the Dominion War swept him up into the more familiar role of warrior. After the War, Kane decided to join Starfleet because he knew his own people would be too keyed-up for exploration and "Warrior" would be the name of the Game for years, if not decades, to come. So, Starfleet it was - still, easier to gain entrance as a combat officer due to even the Federation being in "Military" mode. He was at least able to graduate with an undergraduate in exo-biology.
