Kirsa Malandra Makurosu

Kirsa is a member of the Meltrandi race, an offshoot of the Human race. Her homeworld, the planet Eden was originally a colony of Earth. The colonists had arrived in the early 2100's. The people settled the planet and dismantled their colony ship, the SS Meltran. It was not until they had been settled for some few years that the first effects of the radiation generated by the planet's many colorful rings became noticeable. Though not effecting the original colonists, their children were born with slight genetic mutations, a changed arrangement of internal organs, increased strength to the immune system and a wider variety of hair and eye colors. No adverse effects were otherwise noted. The settlers had left Earth with no intention of returning or staying in contact with the mother planet. It was not until 2357 that contact between Eden and Earth was re-established. Eden then applied for Federation membership in 2360 and was admitted on October 3, 2363.

Kirsa was born on May 21, 2360 to Gourry and Malandra Makurosu. Both of her parents served in the planetary defense force as interceptor pilots. From an early age Kirsa knew she wanted to be a pilot. She spent a great deal of her free time at her parents squadron hanger and became well liked by all of the pilots.

As she grew up Kirsa also developed an interest in computers, and when she was not hanging around her parents squadron hangers or in school she was behind a computer terminal. This got her into trouble more than a few times as she finding and accessing restricted parts of the planetary network and other systems. She is also know for being a bit of a troublemaker, liking to play practical jokes on her friends and associates whenever she can, this too has gotten her into trouble quite often.

When she turned 17 she applied to the planetary defense force wishing to follow her parents as pilots but her application was refused due to the planetary defense forces cutbacks and her own record as a troublemaker. But they did offer to transfer her application to Starfleet Academy, which she agreed and was soon accepted into the Academy after she passed basic entrance testing.

Her time at the Academy went as smoothly as could be expected. She had little difficulty with her courses or tests but did have some minor conflicts with some of her fellow cadets who were less receptive to her outgoing nature than others.

She graduated in 2381 and was assigned as a combat pilot to the USS Hotspur, an older starship assigned to the outer rim patrol, where she served uneventfully for less than a year.

With the ship recalled for a major overhaul and placed out of service in late 2381 Kirsa was assigned to the squadron onboard the USS Hood. While assigned to deep Federation territories the Hood performed many actions against pirates and other do no gooders within Federation borders. Kirsa herself got in a good deal of combat experience and soon gained the position of Squadron leader.

In mid 2384 she was promoted to the rank of full Lieutenant and accepted an offer to take up assignment as assistant Commander Aerospace Group onboard the newly completed USS Cambrian -A.
In 2387, Kirsa was transferred to the USS Hyperion (NCC-7438-F) as the Commander, Air Group.
