[edit] BACKGROUND
(The following information is unknown to Kretorg)
Kretorg's birth was brought about by a genetic experiment proposed by the Klingon High council to had further studies in genetic research. It is believed by some that by combining the two races, a better warrior could be created. Kretorg's father, Kunivas, is an honorable warrior. His genetic mother, T'sal of Vulcan, a biochemist who just happened to be too close to Klingon space on the day she was captured. She was drugged, her DNA sample was taken and she was released without knowing what happened. It is unknown if she even realizes that she has a child. The genetic combining of T'sal's DNA with that of Kunivas took place by the order of the High Council. Azetbur carried the infant through birth and raised him for the honor of the empire. Kunivas and Azetbur were later ordered to silence about the experiment with threats of dishonor to their family and the houses of Kor and Duras. It is assumed that the sudden silence about this became obvious when the start of the Kah'less incident almost broke out in a civil war across the empire. Following the Kah'less incident, all records of the experiment which began his life were destroyed. All that is known publicly is that his father is Kunivas, and that his family's honor is still intact It is widely believed that Kretorg is living on Vulcan by his own choosing, although there is no speculation on why he would choose to do so.

Education prior to Starfleet Academy:
Kretorg received his basic education on Qo'noS as a part of the experiment which he was (explained in history section). After the age of Ascension, Kretorg's basic education was completed on Vulcan, during which time Kretorg attempted studies in the sciences at the Vulcan academy. He only marginally succeeded. He also continued classes in Tactics and Strategy, in which he excelled.
He took the Rite of Ascension in his 13th year, with moderate success. There was no “prize” offered for his successful completion of the Rite. He was allowed the Rite of Inclusion reluctantly by elder Klingons simply by the belief of his importance by the High Council. His fellow Klingons and schoolmates often frown on his partial Vulcan heritage, teasing him for being a “logical Klingon.” With the resolution of the Kah'less incident, Kretorg's importance to the High Council diminished. Kretorg was ordered to go to Vulcan to live and continue school 'for the honor of your family' he was toldy.
Kretorg finds himself often a loner. To him, it seems that he has never been one to “fit in,” often teased by other Klingons during childhood, avoided by other Vulcans and he wanted to kill the humans when they stared and pointed at him. True, he is only a moderate student in the sciences, but he is a good warrior.
Kretorg made the decision to join Starfleet based greatly upon the fact that he does not really fit in anywhere. He had learned that Starfleet is the home of many different races, from many different worlds. He wouldn't really have to “fit in,” just be a good and honorable officer. Surely, Starfleet could use another good warrior among their ranks! Kretorg could do that, because he is a warrior and a strategist. Surely, Starfleet would have a place for him and he would bring them honor. This is the belief that Kretorg entered Starfleet with, and the belief that carried him through his many studies. Still he seemed to rank rather highly in strategy and tactical studies and moderately to poor in the more humanistic studies. He would never make a ship's counselor, doctor or personnel officer.

QUIRKS: Kretorg is known to bear his front teeth like a snarling dog when angry. It is the only outward sign that he is ready for battle.
HOBBIES / INTERESTS: Sleeping outside (more habit than hobby, may be found sometimes sleeping in Hydroponics gardens and arboretums rather than his quarters). Preparing (and eating) Filden Gaph.

(Extract)........Kretorg is quite stable in most situations. The mix of the Vulcan's logical, emotionless stance and the Klingon's propensity for outbursts of emotional response to any situation creates unexpected results in this individual.
