Here are some of the more widely utilized raw materials in the Federation.

Actinides
Radioactive compounds often found with uranium ore.

Argine
An explosive used in Ferengi locater bombs.

Astatine
A mineral found on some planets, which can create a duonetic field, which can inhibit the flow of electromagnetic fields.

Baakonite
A type of metal used in the construction of the blades of the Klingon weapon, the Bat'leth.

Bemonite
A metallic ore which can block or inhibit a transporter beam.

Beritium
Metal used in the construction of Bajoran earrings.

Bilitrium
A crystalline compound, whose energy source, when combined with an anti-matter converter, can become a powerful explosive.

Bitanium
A metal compound used in android neural pathways (such as Data).

Boridium
A material used to power robots (such as the Exocomps). Also used by Romulans to track prisoners; a pellet of boridium is placed under the skin.

Boronite
A mined ore that can be a source for the Omega molecule. Can also be used in the construction of space stations.

Cabrodine
Chemical used as part of an explosive (with Infermite). Often used by the former Bajoran Resistance.

Celebium
Material that is highly radioactive.

Chlorobicrobes
Agricultural chemical used to increase crop production on Bajor.

Chrondite
Mineral compound found in the core of asteroids.

Cormaline
Mineral found in the crust of some planets, such as Ocampa.

Dentarium
A metal alloy used in the construction of Vulcan spacecraft.

Deuterium
An isotope of hydrogen that has one neutron and one proton. Deuterium is used as a fuel for impulse engines and as the "Matter" of the Matter-Antimatter reaction system in most Federation starships.

Diamide
A metal used in the construction of Bajoran earrings (along with beritium).

Diboridium
Primary element used in the core of small Cardassian power generators.

Dicosilium
A material used in the construction of reflective coils for a Krieger Wave converter.

Dilithium
A crystal used as the power source for most warp capable starships. Dilithium regulates matter/antimatter reactions that provide the energy for warp propulsion. Naturally occurring dilithium is rare. Lithium has been a power source since the 20th Century. [Theory: two atoms of lithium are bonded together in a similar way to a hydrogen molecule.]

Dolamide
Substance used as an energy source for reactors, power generators and weapons.

Duranium
A metal alloy used in the construction of Federation starships and shuttles. Duranium composites were also used in access conduits of certain areas of DS9 as well as some Kazon ships in the Delta Quadrant.

Duranium/Tritanium
A nanocomposite of these two substances interlaced with monofilament diamond fibers in the construction of all the latest starships. (Including the Enterprise E).

Duridium
A metal used to make throwing darts.

Duritanium Polyalloy
A metallic composite used in the construction of Federation starships.

Electroceramic
Composite material used in the construction of Kazon spacecraft.

Ermanium
A metallic alloy used in the construction of Starfleet shuttlecraft.

Feldomite
A mineral found on Parsion III.

Fistrium
A metal with refractory qualities that the Crystalline Entity could not penetrate. (The other is kelbonite).

Fortanium
A material used in the construction of the facility known as the D'Arsay Archive.

Gallicite
A rare mineral that is used to construct warp coils for starships.

Garnesite
A mineral that absorbs phaser fire to give off heat and dim orange light.

Golside Ore
Mineral mined by the Cardassians.

Illium 629
An element that is a byproduct of the natural decay of dilithium.

Infermite
Chemical used as part of an explosive (with Cabrodine). Often used by the former Bajoran Resistance.

Irillium
A trace element that, if found with ryetalyn, can render it medically useless.

Jakmanite
A radioactive material capable of causing nucleosynthesis in the element Silicon, It has a half-life of 15 seconds.

Kelbonite
A metal with refractory qualities that the Crystalline Entity could not penetrate. (The other is fistrium).

Kelindide
A material used in the construction of Cardassian ships.

Kemacite
Unstable material that can cause temporal instability when exposed to nuclear radiation.

Khazanium
A transition metal element not generally found to occur naturally. Symbol: Kh, Atomic Number: 155.

Kironide
A chemical compound which when found in food, can give humans psychokinetic powers. A long-lasting source of great power.

Ladarium
Material used in the construction of Cardassian warp drive systems.

Linear Memory Crystal
Refractive material used on the construction of linear optical chips, used in the construction of Federation computers.

Lydroxide
A corrosive material used as a coolant, it is poisonous to humanoids.

Magnesite
A versatile metallic compound containing magnesium carbonate (MgCO 3 ). Magnesite can inhibit transporter beams and cause feedback loops in drilling phasers. However, it is also used in the construction of some areas of starships and can be used as a chemical fuel for cooking.

Mizainite
A valuable metallic ore found on the planet Stakoron II in the Gamma Quadrant.

Molybdenum-Cobalt
An alloy used in the construction of androids (Such as Data).

Nanopolymer
A thick, dense material used in the construction of plasma flow conduits of Federation starships.

Neodymium
A storage device for chemical energy.

Neutronium
Extremely dense matter that has come from the surface of a neutron star. The planet killer was made of neutronium.

Nitrillin
An unstable substance used often used as an explosive.

Nitrium
A metal alloy that is extremely resistant to radiation. It is used for the interior construction of Federation ships. Specific applications include damping field generators, power transfer conduits, and the matter/antimatter reaction chamber.

Noranium
A metal alloy with little salvage value.

Paralithium
A crystal that can be be used as fuel on certain starships. Can be converted to Trilithium.

Paricium
A ceramic used in the construction of certain types of probes.

Pergium
Pergium is a key element needed in life support systems. It plays a big part in the Oxygen-Carbon Dioxide exchange in atmosphere recycling. Also used used as the power source in some life support systems. Found on the planet Janus VI.

Plasticized Tritanium Mesh
A theoretical construction material from the 26th century.

Polycomposite
A synthetic material used in the construction of Federation starship hulls.

Polyduranide
Material used in the construction of Federation and Kazon starships.

Polyferranide
Metallic substance used to seal warp coils on Federation starships.

Pyroclastic Debris
A kind of mineral composite found in the crusts of rocky terrestial planets (such as Torga IV). Also found in volcanic ash clouds.

Riddinite
A building material similar to brick.

Rodinium
A very hard substance used in the construction of the outer protective shell of Federation outposts.

Rubindium
A crystal which is a major component of a subcutaneous transponder.

Ryetyn
A rare mineral that when processed, can be used to cure Rigellian fever.

Salenite
Ore mined on planet Pentarus V.

Silithium
An unstable element that reacts with verteron particles.

Sonodanite
Metal used in the construction of Federation shuttlecraft.

Sorium
An explosive substance used by the Ferengi.

Steelplast
A construction material used primarily for underground tunnel systems.

Styrolite
A clear strong material used in the construction of biological quarantine areas.

Talgonite
A ceramic material used in the construction of space probes.

Tekasite
An unstable material often used in explosives.

Tellerium
Metal used in as an anti-matter reaction rate facilitator in Federation starships.

Terminium
Metal compound used in the construction of photon torpedo casings.

Thalmerite
A powerful chemical explosive compound.

Thermoconcrete
Construction material used to create temporary shelters. Composed mostly of silicon, it can also be used to heal a Horta in an emergency.

Thorium
Radioactive element used for the fusion power about Terok Nor.

Topaline
Rare mineral required for life support systems of colonies.

Toranium
Metal used by Cardassians in the construction of space stations, especially for corridor walls. It can only be cut with a bipolar torch, not phasers.

Transparent Aluminum
The "glass" used in 23rd and 24th century starships. Transparent aluminum has a complex formulation matrix which makes it optically clear and structurally rigid.

Triceron
A Klingon explosive compound.

Trilithium
A chemical compound that acts as a powerful nuclear inhibitor. The resin form is a by-product of dilithium.

Trillium
Trillium 323 is a mineral found on the planet Caladonia. In the form of a gemstone, it is traded on many worlds including Organia.

Tri-Magnesite
A chemical compound that when combined with trevium, creates a an intensely bright light.

Trioniuim
Chemical compound found in nebula FGC-47.

Tripolymer Composites
A high strength, non-conductive, synthetic material used in the construction of androids (Such as Data).

Tritanium
A metal alloy that is the principal material used in the construction of Federation Starships.

Tritonium
A radioactive material used by the Bajoran resistance. Isotopes of the substance were implanted subdermally in case a member of a cell was captured.

Ultritium
A powerful explosive that is undetectable with transporter scanners.

Uridium
Valued but unstable mineral found on Bajor. If subjected to an electrical charge, it can explode. In it's refined form as an alloy, it is used by Cardassians in their starship sensor arrays.

Vendarite
Valuable mineral found on Ligos VII.

Victurium
Metal used in the construction of Oberth class Federation starships.

Zenite
A rare mineral that can be refined to fight botanical plagues. When mined, however, it emits a gas that is slowly harmful to humanoids.

Bio-Neural Gel Packs
A matrix of neural fibers, composed of complex polymers, with multiple interconnections. Their primary function is to process navigational data. The organic elements are subject to damage from organic infection.

Finoplak
A liquid solvent that can dissolve Starfleet-issued fabrics.

Hydrazine
A liquid rocket propellant used in the thrusters of Starfleet shuttlecraft. It is colorless and can be harmful to humans. (N2H4).

Latinum
A rare metallic liquid used as currency by the Ferengi. Latinium cannot be replicated and is stored in gold ingots of different values.

Magnasite
Corrosive drops that can be used to dissolve duranium.

Nitrogen Tetroxide
A liquid propellent used in chemical reaction thrusters. Toxic to humans. (N2O4)

Quartium
A chemical used in Federation thruster packs. Usually stable but can become explosive at a radiation level of 350 rads.

Tetralubisol
A volatile liquid lubricant poisonous to humans.

Acidichloride
A corrosive gaseous chemical that is toxic to humans.

Axonol
An anesthetic aerosol used for crowd control on Prometheus class star ships.

Cryonetrium
A gas that stays gaseous even at temperatures near absolute zero.

Dikironium
A rare gaseous substance that can actually be a component of a living entity. This entity would kill humans to get their red blood. May give off a sickly sweet smell.

Mtereon Gas
An explosive form of plasma found in the region of space known as the Briar Patch.

Methanogenic Compound
An explosive gas found in the caverns of Kespytt III.

Neurocine
A fatal white aerosol gas used by the Cardassians for riot control against Bajoran workers.

Sirillium
A volatile gas found in nebulas.

Theragen
A nerve gas used by the Klingons that is lethal in its pure state. When diluted, it can be combined with alcohol that helps to deaden nerve inputs when exposed to spatial interphase.

Theta-Xenon
A gas found in nebulas.

Toh-Maire
Volatile, explosive pockets of gas found mainly in the Gamma Quadrant.

Tritium
An isotope of hydrogen with an atomic weight of 3. In it's gas form it is mildly radioactive and can be hazardous to organic life when concentrated. Low concentrations of the gas were used to trace the particle flow to a dangerous graviton field buildup on DS9.
