Vice Admiral Nausicaä Fairchild, a former Intelligence Director and SWORD operations director. She has been an instrumental member and leader of almost every incarnation of SWORD since its inspection in 2182. After her retirement from Starfleet in 2385 she moved to the colony on Dorvan V to start a private corporation. Her retirement did not last long and by 2387 she was seen again on the San Francisco campus of Starfleet Command, donning a red uniform and her Admiral's pips, though what her current assignment at Starfleet Command is, no one knows.

Born in the year 1975 in England. Nausicaä was, from a very early age, a very gifted and talented girl. In her preliminary schooling she outpaced her classmates and learned at a much quicker rate. Both of her parents had been members of a group that believed in the perfection of the human race by means of genetic manipulation. From before birth Nausicaä had undergone gene therapy. The genetic augmentation continued into her early teens. Where many augmented humans had been developed to be physically superior and highly intelligence. Nausicaä's parents had focused less on her physical strengths as they had her mental prowess, which is far superior to any regular human. That said, her appearance is altered and she looks very little like her parents did.

The year 1992 saw much change for the world. Organizations of genetically augmented humans such as herself had banded together and sought to take power of the worlds nations in the name of bettering human kind. Nausicaä and her family were part of the largest of these organizations, under the rule of Khan Noonien Singh.

In the beginning Nausicaä believed in Khan and the words he spoke that what they were doing was for the good of everyone. She was part of the social circles that formed around Khan and found herself enamored with him.

But as time went on and Khan and his people seized control of more and more of the world Nausicaä began to understand how wrong they all were and how much they were harming human kind. In 1995 she defected, in secret, to the remains of the alliance that stood against the growing super human domination of the Earth.

She had almost been executed on the spot when she arrived at the alliance headquarters, but she offered information and her full cooperation in trade for her life. To this day, deep down, she curses herself for the decision she made that day, for later that year, information she had divulged led to the death of both her parents in the bloody battles that drove Khan and the handful of super humans that survived into exile in deep space.

Nausicaä was immediately imprisoned after the conclusion of what became known as the Eugenics war. In prison she remained for ten years, her share of the punishment for the charges of crimes against humanity and genocide levied against those that had attempted to take control of the world.

Her sentence had been for life, but she was released in 2006 and dedicated herself to trying to help rebuild what her people had destroyed, at least she hoped and tried to, but due to mounting anger and resentment of all those around her she found it harder and harder to make any headway. It was all but impossible when no one trusted her or wanted her help or for her to be around.

Suffering from severe depression and distress Nausicaä disappeared in 2009, despite her requirements for constant supervision and monitoring by government officials. She changed her name, stayed away from civilization and eventually, over time, faded out of the minds of those who had been watching her and those that had been sent to find her.

By the twenty teens's Nausicaä had settled into a small community in northern Scotland, where she had managed to walk to and was found in a field, starving to death. The people in the village took her in, brought her back to health and treated her as one of their own. Believing this to finally be an opportunity to do good with her life, Nausicaä decided to stay for the remainder of her days.

2026 saw the outbreak of the Third World War, an event that would last for over twenty years and cost the lives of over 600 billion people. The small community Nausicaä had become part of was not immune to the nuclear holocaust and bloody war that consumed the Earth. Many people became sick and died from the growing levels of radioactive contamination in the planets atmosphere and the village was wiped out in 2032 when a platoon from the Easter Coalition raided and destroyed it. Nausicaä barely managed to escape with her life.

Badly wounded, Nausicaä drug herself out of the burning ruins of the village and to safety. For years she was on the run, trying to survive the mounting destruction of the Earth. On several occasions she joined in attempts to stop the war, including joining the New United Nations, in the late 2030's. Many of these attempts to bring world piece met in failure.

By the time of the wars end in 2053 Nausicaä was alone, wondering the waist lands. Her mental state was questionable at best and she had been considering suicide for a long time. Despite being 78 years of age at this time, she appeared to be no older than her mid forties, due to her genetic augmentation. Her cellular aging process had been slowed dramatically as a side effect of her gene therapy as a child.

When first contact with an alien race had been made, Nausicaä had made her way across the Atlantic to the former United States and had been working for some years with the restoration efforts. She became part of one of the first groups of humans to leave Earth and travel to Vulcan. She found enlightenment there and chose to stay, leaving her home world behind as she strove to find mental calm and peace in the cool logic of the Vulcans.

As the years passed, Nausicaä started to become increasingly ill. Even though she was physically aged no more than fifty, she was weakening at an alarming rate. Examinations at the Vulcan medical centers discovered the was beginning to suffer from a cellular degenerative disorder that was caused by an inherent flaw in the genetic augmentation that had been designed to extend her lifespan far beyond that of a regular human.

Nausicaä had all but accepted her fate by 2068. Her cellular structure would degrade beyond the point of her body being able to maintain life in a year if not sooner. She dedicated herself to the teachings of Surak, wishing to achieve total mental calm and clear her mind of all that had troubled and tormented her over her long years before her death.

A Vulcan medical scientist, Servek approached Nausicaä later that same year, a student of genetic medicine, he had been working to find a cure for various forms of genetic and cellular disorders in various alien species. Greatly interested in examining and testing a prototype medicine on a human, he requested Nausicaä help in his studies. She was very ill at this point, bed ridden at a hospital in the city of ShiKahr. She agreed to help Servek in his studies, hoping she could offer one more bit of good to repay her dept to humanity.

Servek began an immediate treatment with an experimental drug. There were no effects at first, causing Servek to believe his drug to be a failure, but weeks into the treatment regime Nausicaä's condition began to improve. Within two months she was back on her feet and seemingly cured. As soon as the drug treatment regime was stopped though, her symptoms would quickly start to return, and more rapid and severe than previously. It was soon determined that for the drug's effects to last, Nausicaä would have to continue to use the drug regularly for the remainder of her life. To make matters worse, the drug was hard to manufacture and its ingredients expensive and hard to come by, only originating from a single planet far from the Vulcan system.

She continued the treatment. An interesting reaction to the drug began occure after she began to have prolonged exposure to the drug in her blood stream. The drug interacted with the genetic augmentation in her DNA, causing her cellular structure to regrow and repair its self, eventually to the point of early adulthood. It was not an overnight reaction, but by 2100 Nausicaä had the physical appearence of an 18 year old.

In exchange for her continued treatment, and for her want to be useful for a good cause, Nausicaä had remained with Servek as his aid...
