Nia serves as Diplomatic Officer aboard the USS Saturn (NCC-71801).
[edit] BACKGROUND
Nia was born in one of Kamba's communal dwellings, Waridi-mura, 350 people strong . She is the third child and only daughter of Rei Musu-Achieng (mother) and Abasi Musu-Abla (father) .
Her childhood was happy, her extended family protected her without stifling her adventurous streak and nurtured her talents, later on they were supportive of her choice of career. After completing the mandatory education on Kanba, at 17, Nia applied to Starfleet Academy and was accepted, there she opted for the diplomacy track, took every optional course who could fit in her schedule and finished academy in the top 20th of her class.
She throughly enjoyed her years at the Academy. Used to a regulated, communal life from birth she adapted to the new life without particular trouble, while being enthusiastic about the great variety of experiences, cultures and point of views she came to know though her fellow students.
