The Sixthfleet Security Bureau combines Sixthfleet’s branches of Starfleet Security, Starfleet Tactical and Starfleet Strategic Operations, and Starfleet NCIS. The task of the SFSB is to develop and implement protocol and procedure related to the security of the federation. The bureau is also responsible for the criminal investigations of any Starfleet personnel.

The Sixthfleet branch of Starfleet’s Security agency is responsible for security aboard all Sixthfleet outposts, vessels, and facilities. In this function, they act in ways analogous to local and regional police agencies. The agency is responsible for maintaining and enforcing Starfleet Security regulations, procedures and policies on all Starfleet and affiliated facilities, outposts, and vessels. In addition, this agency is responsible for security clearances of all Starfleet/UFP personnel.

The agency, in close cooperation with Starfleet Intelligence, is responsible for counter-intelligence operations. The agency is also responsible for the security of the Federation President or any members of the Federation Council and visiting alien dignitaries.

NCIS or Naval Criminal Investigative Service is Starfleet’s primary law enforcement agency in relations to criminal activities of Starfleet personnel. NCIS is part of the Starfleet Security Agency and is also associated with Starfleet Intelligence.

The bureau is also responsible in association with Starfleet Tactical for weapons development as well as the planning of defensive strategies.

The bureau’s senior staff is composed of 6 officers. The Director and Deputy director are in command of the bureau. The Director also serves as the Bureaus liaison to other bureaus as well as the Chief of Fleet Operations. The Fleet Master-At-Arms and Fleet Gunners Mate are the senior NCO’s of Security and Tactical respectively. Attached to the Bureau is also the Chief of Criminal Investigative Services who is the Fleet’s Senior NCIS agent. The Bureau’s senior staff is rounded out by the JAG Corps Liaison Officer who is responsible for ensuring that the SFSB is operated in a legal manner according to all federation rules and regulations.
