Starbase 98: Intelligence Team IV was a Sixth Fleet simulation.
[edit] Intelligence Team IV
Intelligence Team IV was a standing Intelligence Team that operated out of the Tracos Sector. At various times, the team was based either on Starbase 98 or from within the Intelligence Ground Facility on Tracos III. The team's composition changed frequently but was always at a minimum made up of a CO, XO, and several specialists (including weapons specialists, extraction specialists, and science specialists). ITIV, as it was often called, was ferried around in a wide array of ships, from a Nova-class vessel to several "obtained" vessels like a Romulan small craft and a Klingon Bird of Prey.
[edit] Notable Crew (And Where Are They Now...as of 2383)
- Captain Vada Keys (CO) - Joined Trill. Keys was encouraged to leave her post as CO due to her direct connection to a high profile intelligence Admiral who died during one of ITIV's missions. Starfleet Intelligence did not want to take a chance that she might become a target because of the Keys symbiont. Upon leaving, Vada was bustled to Telar where she remained for approximately six months. In that time, she changed her appearance dramatically - losing nearly 20 lbs, cut and altered the color of her hair as well as her eyes, and removed/disguised her trill spots. In addition to changing her appearance, Vada began the painstaking process of creating a new identity. Finally, she was deployed from Telar to Earth, portraying the role of Mara Salvatrucha, a newly graduated Ensign from Starfleet Academy. In 2380, she was once again tapped for Starfleet Intel and "trained" by none other than....LS von de Leur. As of 2383, she has been elevated to the rank of Lieutenant.
- Commander LS von de Leur (Infiltration/XO/Operative Trainer) - Known for her dutch drawl and surly demeanor, she ironically has found a knack for creating some of the best intelligence operatives around. She remains one of the fleet's premier Intelligence Operative Trainers and is currently based out of an Intelligence Ground Facility (much like the one on Tracos) in the Ventu sector.
- Commander Douglas Masters (Engineering/Infiltration/XO/CO)
- Commander Samuel Ryan (Science)
- Lieutenant Alexandra Matthews (Medical)
[edit] Command Lineage (CO)
- Lieutenant Colonel Brosus (Paul Taylor)
- Commander Sebastian DeVries (Cian Benoit)
- Colonel Scott Forester (Paul Taylor)
- Captain Vada Keys (Erika Hansen)
- Commander Douglas Masters (Dion Calhetta)
- Colonel Scott Forester (Paul Taylor)

[edit] Mission #1 - Dr. Dona, Where Are You?
Commanding Officer: Lieutenant Colonel Brosus
Executive Officer: Lieutenant Commander Maximillian Daevan
A secure scientific research facility on Starbase 132 was broken into and a quantity of mutagenic material was stolen. The materials were used as part of a project to find suitable defensives and remedies for effects of mutagenic attacks. These biological weapons were capable of eradicating all life from a planetary body.
Starfleet Intelligence believes that this material was to be used in a mutagenic weapon. This weapon could then be easily transported to any target. SFI believes that this material has either been stolen for sale or acquired for a specific task. Mutagenic technology is a difficult and rare science, SFI have been monitoring individuals with the qualifications and experience to engineer a mutagenic weapon.
Dr. Lars Dona, a Trill engineer and assistant to Professor P'Com, the renowned Vulcan scientist who has work extensively in the field had recently visited Risa where the JAG team following her lost contact.
Intelligence Team IV was deployed on the mission to discover how the material was removed from the base and for what purposes, and also to locate the wherabouts of Dr. Dona.
[edit] Shoreleave - Drunken Stupors and Stupored Reprimands
Commanding Officer: Lieutenant Colonel Brosus
Executive Officer: Lieutenant Commander Maximillian Daevan
The Drake, with all its crew intact (exception being Ensign Masters who sustained minor injuries in an attempt at a controlled emergency explosion of the mutagenic device in engineering), made it's way back to Starbase 98. Ensign von de Leur received news that that Erocia, her only living relative, presumed missing, was alive. In an emotional twist of ambiguity, LS drank herself into a stupor and proceeded to whereupon she proceeded to "destroy" the Executive Officer's clothing by spilling bourbon on him.
Once returned to SB98, the crew celebrated their promotions and commendations. Ensign von de Leur and Ensign Masters led a contingent to Sonal Bar, a reputable establishment that is frequented by most SF personnel stationed at McNicholson Base. Colonel Brosus among others, returned to their homes on the colony. Lieutenant Mitchell and Ensign Antellion explore the vast capacities of their telepathic abilities. Mitchell and Antellion experience, seemingly uncoincidental telephatic and neural incidents as both report to sickbay for diagnosis.
1st Lieutenant Harper ensures that not for one moment will he stop tormenting Commander Daevan with his irresponsible pranks. Brosus has Harper display his piloting excellence.
The rest of the crew (unbeknownst to the command staff) delve into the mission of investigating LS von de Leur's personal history regarding the information she recently received about her cousin, Erocia. They do so by accessing classified files under the guise of transgressors. They then attempt every sequence to deter investigators, as SB98 goes on full alert. A special investigatory unit is dispatched to uncover the activities of the unauthorized computer access. With the matter of computer infiltration of one of the most secure and fortified facilities in the quadrant, Lieutenant Colonel Brosus determined it necessity to inform his ranking superior, Admiral Thomas, of the activities. Lieutenant Commander Maximillian Daevan and Ensign Douglas Masters, individually remained in deliberation on how to address the matter in order to quell it, and chose differing manners to do so. The Executive Officer tried explaining to his superior, whilst Masters chose to speak with the victimized individual - the one who’s files were hacked into - Ensign LS von de Leur. Once LS was made aware of the activities of her fellow crew, she was less than pleased.
With the full scope of the activities revealed, Brosus, incapable of expressing emotion was, if one could rationalize it in Terran terms, disappointed. He accepted responsibility for the activities of his crew and a reprimand was placed upon his StarFleet file. On official direction, the matter was closed, and the team prepared for its next mission.

[edit] Mission #7 - We're Not on Romulus Anymore...
This mission was in cooperation with the USS Arizona of Tango Fleet.
Commanding Officer: Colonel Scott Forester
Executive Officer: Commander LS von de Leur
Intelligence Team IV is deployed on a mission to Romulus to extract Lieutenant (jg) Selvic and Ensign Rupert Marius. They are operatives who have been undercover on the planet for two months searching for information about whether the Romulans have been developing weaponry that violates treaty agreements. An away team is sent down to their last known coordinates which is one of the Romulan Moons tagged as "Minerva". Unfortunately, while the away team is attempting to find Selvic and Marius, the Ajax is caught underfire. The remaining members of IT IV transport to "Juno" moon as the Ajax is destroyed.
The USS Arizona, an intelligence class vessel, is dispatched to find both groups.
[edit] Shoreleave: Intelligence Team Wars
Commanding Officer: Commander Vada Keys
Executive Officer (Incoming): Douglas Masters
With the conclusion of the Joint Mission involving the Arizona, IT IV returns to Starbase 98 to find many changes - both to the station facilities and the structure of the sector's intelligence command. Colonel Forester has been promoted from Commanding Officer of Intelligence Team IV to Division Commander of Tango Fleet's Intelligence branch which is based in the Tracos Sector. Further, Executive Officer, LS von de Leur, has been "promoted" to an Intelligence Operative Trainer.
Incoming as Commanding Officer is Commander Vada Keys, a newly trained command operative with a background in science. She spent roughly a year on Mars working on the initial specifications of the new Intelligence Ground Facility which was built while IT IV was away on mission. Also incoming are a number of other new operatives to be added to the crew compliment of Intelligence Team IV. The new and old crew mingle before they report to a briefing where most of the changes are revealed.
Commander Ryan and Ensign Varo Lenara, the new Communications Specialist, welcome a new Artificial Intelligence system, Proteus, to SB98. von de Leur and Cross find themselves at their Tracos home together, and they share with each other their thoughts about the changes happening in their lives and what they see in their future. Other crew head down to Sonal Bar, famous hangout for IT IV for some rest and relaxation. Ensign Manes receives some bad news and attempts to do as Matthews did the previous night and chase his sorrows away with drinks. Keys and Masters welcome the command team from Intelligence Team III. Captain Fuller and Commander Bascaus are less than pleasant, and Keys and Masters find themselves on the same team as they verbally spar. Matthews unknowingly comes across IT III's medical specialist, Risian Astasi Runfola, and tries to kindly thwart his advances towards her. Longman meets IT III's female pilot, Aimee Heupel, and the two connect. Meanwhile, the incoming weapon's specialist, Galen, arrives with a band of other Cardassians to enjoy the hospitality of the Sonal Bar and Ryan, Masters and Longman greet them with less than the most enthusiastic means. Masters ends up in sickbay with a broken nose. He catches wind of Runfola's advances and tries to do Alex a favor by providing the sweet talking Risian with some false information which does not exactly please Matthews when she finally finds out. However, they talk it over and come to an understanding.
The next day, Commander von de Leur begins her new job as Operative Trainer with hand to hand combat exercises on the holodeck for Intelligence Team III. She discovers that the women on the team appear to be the most combat friendly and decide that they could use more work. When IT IV arrives, they participate in a Bat'Leth tournament that pits the newer crew against the older crew. The two teams duel for points, but the overall totals end up tied. Afterwards, Keys is pulled aside by Admiral Renda with information about their next mission.
