T'Miyaken Solo

Miya's origins are a bit of an enigma, having been found abandoned as a baby on Starbase 106 - positioned right on the fringes of Federation space. Not long after the Starbases completion, there was a flurry of activity as crew arrived, engineers departed and local traders began using the Starbase as another stop on their routes. During a routine sweep of the station, her father (then a Lieutenant and a junior security officer) found her in a gap between some crates in an unused hanger.

Attempts were made to trace her real parents, but due to the volume of traffic, as well as the size of the Starbase itself, they were met with no success. The officer who found Miya, along with his wife who was assigned as a science officer, took Miya in while attempts were made to find her true family. As the months rolled past, and no further information was found, they began to raise Miya as their own.

Once old enough, Miya would spend a lot of time with her mother in the science labs - assisting her with her work, and taking a lot of interest in what was going on around her. At the same time, she loved spending time with her father, and when she could would join him on his training exercises around the station.

Once old enough, she finally enrolled with Starfleet - surprising both her parents by enlisting as a Security officer. Upon graduating, she was posted to the USS Ontario, an Akira class vessel assigned to patrol near the Romulan Neutral Zone. She was involved in a number of operations to wipe out smugglers running goods across the Zone, which meant she saw a fair bit of action despite the posting being considered 'routine'. It was on this ship that she rose to the rank of Lieutenant, as well as becoming Chief of Security during her time on board.

The offer of the XO position aboard the USS Saturn, along with the promotion it gave, was something a shock to her. After the time she spent on the Ontario, it was a difficult decision as it had been her home for so long - not to mention the friends she would be leaving behind. However she must have impressed someone with her time as CoS aboard the Ontario, and accepted the position without a second thought. It was going to prove interesting.

Her guess was proved right, during the second mission after becoming the executive officer, the ship was badly damaged by a gaseous anomaly that had been floating through space for aeons. Barely escaping the cloud, the USS Saturn was fatally wounded and began to break up as the escape pods jetissoned. After being rescued, Miya was facing an uncertain future - until she met Admiral Gibson, and was offered command of the next vessel to bear the name 'Saturn' ...

Miya is a strange mix. The analytical side she acquired from spending so much time with her mother in direct contrast with the impulsive and sometimes violent side she used to great affect while serving as a security officer.

Likes: Enjoys spending time with her friends, visiting new places.
