Tally is the Assistant Chief Science Officer (Xenobiology) on the USS Nogata.
[edit] BACKGROUND
Tal’etha’s father, the Romulan Tretharn, defected to the Federation many years ago, and took a position teaching Romulan language and culture at Starfleet Academy on Earth. He met a human woman, married, and they had Tal’etha. Her mother died when Tal’etha was young, and she was raised by her father. When Tal’etha was eight, her father died. With no family on Earth, one of her father’s former students, Hannah Jezavic, agreed to become her guardian, even though she was about to graduate from Starfleet Academy herself. With occasional visits from her Vari (Aunt) Hannah, Tally continued attending the boarding school her father had selected for her, until she qualified to attend Starfleet Academy at 16.
Academy History Tal’etha was a good student, studying hard. Her shy, quiet nature prevented her from making many friends among her classmates. However, many instructors befriended her for her father’s sake, and she often visited with various instructors’ families. She chose to pursue the sciences, and of course excelled academically.
Career Summary The USS Edison was Tal’etha’s first posting, taking the place of a regular Cadet Cruise. She acted as Science Officer while still completing her official education. Her first mission involved a trip to Harduronda VIII, where a volcano thought dormant unexpectedly erupted, threatening the nearby federation colony. The Edison evacuated the colonists, then returned to investigate the incident, discovering it was set off as an indirect result of some experiments with a new material. The possible uses of this material made it a high-demand item, as evidenced by the appearance of Klingon, Romulan, and Ferengi teams, all willing to fight for the discovery. It was during this episode that she was adopted by her Fuzzy, Aeirlai.
During the shoreleave following this mission, SFI discovered a plot on Captain Wilder’s life, a threat that encompassed his entire family, including Tal’etha. The family left, heading for a safe house on Deridous IV. But their shuttle was attacked and destroyed en route. They were all presumed dead, but after the plot was unraveled by SFI Agent Moonbeam, the family was able to return to normal duty. Tal’etha was assigned to the USS Saturn, to complete her interrupted Cadet Cruise.
Before even reporting to the USS Saturn, Cadet Annhwi met the Saturn’s XO, LtCdr Ian Nicholl. They began a relationship that ended with Nicholl was transferred off the Saturn and back to Earth. But before he left, he was able to inform her of her graduation and promotion to Ensign. It was a bittersweet ending.
Shortly thereafter, Captain Wilder was given command of the USS Nogata. He arranged for Tally to be transferred to his Science Department there. As a result of her hard work and good performance there, the CSO recommended her placement as his ACSO only a short time after she made the move.

Personality Traits Often mistaken for a Vulcan, Tal’etha learned at a young age to avoid great displays of emotion, because it made people around her uncomfortable. This, combined with the loss of both parents, has caused her to be somewhat shy and withdrawn in some situations. However, her natural exuberance usually bubbles out very quickly. Her quick mind often leads to a string of comments, explanations, and questions all rolling out at once.
Attitude Tal’etha is very sure of her own abilities, and will speak up when she deems it necessary.
Likes Likes her privacy in her own space, and seeks solitude when she’s really wrapped up in a project. But enjoys the company of other people when she’s not focused on something.
Dislikes Anything that distracts her when she’s in the middle of something. Being ignored when she has something important to say.
Strengths Has a very logical mind, and is well suited to her scientific career path.
Weaknesses Personal interaction – is often guilty of assuming other people are keeping up with her intellectually, and will ‘run off’ without them mentally.
Talents Science, latrunculo
Limitations Impatient with people who are unable to keep up with her mentally.
Quirks Tal’etha has a strong sense of curiosity, and will frequently develop a new interest and pursue it for a period of time. She will take turns with being very interested in learning more about her romulan heritage and then trying to avoid it for some time. This interest/avoidance has been going on all her life.
Hobbies The only consistent interest she has in anything romulan is in latrunculo, which is game similar to chess. Enjoys Swimming.
Ambitions Tal’etha joined Starfleet really from a lack of better plans. She’d like to ‘see what’s out there’ and gain some experiences. If she were able to make a real difference in her field, that would be wonderful, but she’s content for now to simply do her job and serve as needed.
[edit] MEDICAL RECORDS

Height 5’4 (1.62 m)
Weight 120 lbs. (54.4 kg)
Eye Color Dark Brown
Hair Color Dark Brown, long, usually worn in a ponytail with messy bangs
Skin Tone Caucasian with an olive tint

Dexterity Right-handed
Comments Tal’etha suffers from a few minor lingering medical problems, a result of her half-breed heritage. It is unknown how her heritage will affect her medically in the future. She should see a doctor every three months for a check-up, but is otherwise fit for duty. – Dr. Key’lar, Starfleet Medical
PSYCHOLOGICAL RECORD
Ms. Annhwi has no record of mental illness or instability and is considered fit for duty. She tends to be somewhat reserved in social situations, but has proven herself quite able to speak up for herself when the occasion requires it. – Counselor Jenkins, Starfleet Academy
Tally – Cadet Annhwi – is brilliant. However, she’s also a child. She needs time to learn that her intellect won’t solve every problem; sometimes it takes experience. She has been like a daughter to me during her time at the Academy, and I anticipate hearing great things about her career. – Admiral Matthew Chisholm
