Task Group Alpha

Task Group Alpha (TGA) is a subordinate unit of Task Force 1 (TF1), Sixth Fleet (6F). The Task Group is based out of Deep Space 19 and commanded by Rear Admiral Alexandra Kane. The Group is broken into three Task Units, as well as an attached Combined Task Group (CTG).

The Janus Luna Group is the main Scientific formation of Task Group Alpha. It is composed of five ships and commanded by Commodore Morgan Fieldman. It is the primary science unit for the Pacifica Expanse and the surrounding region.

Carrier Strike Group 9 is the primary combat unit of Task Group Alpha. It centers around the USS Lexington (NCC-61832-A) and Carrier Air Wing 9. The Strike Group Commander is Rear Admiral Oliver Scott.

[edit] Task Group Alpha Marine Force / 5th Marine Expeditionary Brigade
The 5th Marine Expeditionary Brigade also the Task Group Alpha Marine Force and nicknamed the Daedalus Brigade is the Marine Unit for the Task Group. It is Headquartered at Daedalus Garrison on Daedalus IV and is under the Command of Brigadier General Harold Coolridge.

[edit] Combined Task Group 615 (CTG-615)
Combined Task Group 615 is a combined Federation Starfleet and Cardassian Military Task Group formed to combat increased piracy in the area between the Pacifica Expanse and Cardassian Union the formation operates on a temporary rotational bases with each partner contributing about 3 vessels per a rotation (or ROTA). It also has a rotating field commander typically a one-star Flag Officer alternating between Cardassian and Federation each ROTA. During Starfleet commanded tours it falls under Task Group Alpha jurisdiction. It is supported by the Starfleet base Deep Space 19 and the Cardassian base Rocet Nor.
