Coonradt started as Ensign Derik Thomas Turner, Chief of Security of the USS Lancelot (NCC-74410). This didn't last long, and at the rank of Lieutenant (Junior Grade) he was made the acting Executive Officer of the Lancelot by Commodore S'Slanne, played by John Gresham, a well known and loved CO.

Coonradt was XO for four months before S'Slanne retired from the fleet. Turner was then promoted to Commanding Officer of the USS Lancelot and led it through several years of great posts and exciting missions. During this time, however, the Lancelot crash landed on a Planet called Deridous IV. This was the ground work for a later simulation based on a Colony.

Coonradt became the Fleet Security Corps Chair, and a Division Advisor. He helped write and implement the first 2 Tango Fleet Constitutions. He was very active in the fleet even at one time running for the position of Commander-in-Chief.

Coonradt also was an instructor at the Academy from 2000 until 2003 where he instructed Security/tactical cadets as well as Marines. He was acting Dean of Command School twice and Vice Dean once.

With the help of some fleet members, Coonradt created the Deridous IV colony simulation and led it for a short time. He portrayed General Thomas Driscoll and later a Sloth Monkey known as Leaf Jumper.

Recently, Coonradt was instrumental in re-starting New Deridous Colony, where he was the Colony Administrator as Commodore Derik Turner. Coonradt used the character of Leaf Jumper as well. Coonradt recently returned to New Deridous after an extended bout with Cancer. He is pleased to announce that it looks like a full remission. Coonradt now plays Sgt Derek Driscoll on the USS Hyperion. Coonradt also served as the Task Force Advisor for Task Force 3.
