Turrel is currently serving aboard the USS Athena (NCC-80353) as its Commanding Officer. He was promoted to Captain after the disappearance of Douglas Makgill. The joined Trill served as Executive Officer under the previous 2 Commanding Officers.
[edit] BACKGROUND
The Kratz symbiont was born in 2005, in the symbiont pools of Trill. Turrel was interested in science from a young age. In one experiment, he created a hydrogen fuel cell from basic components. He was soon learning how to study warp field mechanics and other space age technologies.
Turrel's parents were both in Star Fleet and were stationed at Vulcan for much of the lad's formulative years. Perhaps his interest in science developed because he was born on Vulcan and grew up among logical "friends". Or maybe it was the crashed Romulan Warbird he and some of his compadres found high up in the Gol mountains that started a life-long interest in Cloaking devices and other science applications. The gang took a "logical" vow of silence, and none have every recounted this find.
At any case, he was in his teens before he saw Trill, as he aplied to attend science courses at the renouned Trill Science Ministry (where he later worked). At the recommendation of a friend, Turrel started an adventure in Star Fleet. That being said, Turrel was barely old enough to qualify for the joining process before he began his Star Fleet career. His great talent in the field of science distinguished him from other canidates and he was selected in the when there were only about half a dozen symbionts left to be joined.
Being a joined Trill had definate advantages, as his previous incarnations had Command and Medical experience. He excelled in his course work, but was beat out of being Validictorian by a Vulcan female by 3 questions on his final exam. He graduated a respectable 2nd in his class.
During his Star Fleet career, he has been posted to Deep Space 6. He's also held a short-term post performing classified weapons research and pulled a stint at the Trill Science Ministry. During his many missions on the USS Edison, Kratz encountered numerous cultures, some of which advanced transporter technology considerably. New designs were incorporated when the USS Athena was constructed. He can now safely beam with his peers, although he is careful to check to see if the transporters have been upgraded and enhanced before he uses them. Because of his history with troublesome transports, he obviously vastly prefers shuttles and runabouts to go places whenever possible.
One of the oddest things about this man is that his racial spots are a strange purple color.
- Likes: Saurian and Tragarian Music, Particle Physics, Cloaking Devices, and 3D Chess.
- Dislikes: Ferengi, Ban on Cloaking Technology, and Transporters.
- Strengths: Can build and redesign computer systems accurately without complicated manuals. Kratz is not easily surprised, since the symbiont has seen much.
- Limitations: Turrel sometimes gets distracted by Kratz's 378 years of past memories. The Kratz symbiont is sensitive to transporters and can not use some older models without serious medical complications.
- Quirks: Sometimes uses cosmetics to conseal his spots.
Hobbies/Interests:
- Plays a Trill Frugalhorn,
- Water painting,
- Logic Puzzles,
- Building working scale models of Kirk-era ships, including Romulan Warbirds.
- Ambition: Creating better transporters.
- Motto: Don't disassemble me in that beast!
In 2385, Turrel was promoted to Executive Officer. After the disappearance of Commander Douglas Makgill, Kratz was further promoted and now serves as the Commanding Officer of the USS Athena.

[edit] PERSONAL RECORDS
Turrell is the 5th host to the Kratz symbiont. Previous hosts/hostesses are:
- Caorl (F)- Famous Artist
- Verlu (F)- Maritime Captain, Trill.
- Sardon (M)- Doctor, discovered 2 important cures on Trill.
- Jalbrea(F)- Musician, first non-Saurian to play Saurian music.
Jalbrea was portrayed by British singing sensation Susan Boyle.
Family Data
- Father: Gerold
- Mother: Alaria
- Siblings: None
- Marital status: Single
- Child(ren): None from Current Host.
NOTE: Kratz has had children during previous joinings.
[edit] MEDICAL RECORDS
The Kratz symbiont is sensitive to some older transporter systems. He can use only transporters with the Polarized Gralek upgrade discovered in the late missions of the USS Edison, which is intergrated with all systems constructed after 2380. The upgrade may also be installed to systems manufactured after 2374.
Unlike other Trill, his racial spots are purple in coloration, rather than the usual dark brown. This is cosmetic only, and does not impact his health.
Otherwise, both host and symbiont are in good health.
