A Steamrunner-class defensive vessel, the USS Barnes (NCC-52621) was based out of Starbase 326 in preparation for the exploration of the Hurucan Sector. However, after encounters with Hirogen and other hostile species in the Sector, Starfleet have now tasked her with protecting its new Outpost on Sigma Librae II.
