The USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-C) was the fourth starship to bear the name and served from 2332 to 2344. It was under the command of Captain Rachel Garrett. The vessel encountered a temporal anomaly at its fateful final battle where it traveled twenty-two years into the future and met the Enterprise-D. Due to this event, Lieutenant Natasha Yar traveled back to 2344 with the Enterprise-C.

The USS Enterprise-C was destroyed defending the Klingon colony of Narendra III against a Romulan attack.

While investigating an energy discharge that appears to be a weapons test, the Dogossi race was discovered in cyrogenic syspension, with ancient equipment keeping them alive.

The USS Athena was sent back to the year 2342 by a chroniton surge during the investigation, where it defended the USS Enterprise-C from certain destruction at Tholians hands. No temporal incursion was detected by those living in the past.
