The U.S.S. Frontier NCC-71923 was a Galaxy Class Star Fleet vessel that operated carried out exploration missions and the protection of UFP interests in the Gamma Quadrant. She was commanded by Captain Clifford James Crane and his bad girl Executive Officer, Lieutenant Commander Stacey Simms.

During an encounter with rogue Dominion forces the Stardrive section was destroyed after ramming a Dominion Battleship. The Saucer was crippled and finally crashed landed on a planet. Much of the senior crew transferred to the newly commissioned USS Oberon.
