The U.S.S. Pegasus NCC-53847-D was an Akira-class starship commissioned in 2380 under the command of Commander Tom Archer. It was the fourth vessel to carry the name. The Pegasus met her end in 2386 as she attempted to escape from Cardassian Space while under attack by two Galor-class Cruisers. The surviving crew was rescued by the starships Nogata and John F. Kennedy and taken to Starbase 425 where they met the new U.S.S. Pegasus; a Steamrunner-class ship with the registry number NCC-53847-E
