The Sovereign-class USS Poseidon NCC 89515, flagship of Carrier Group One and the Outer Perseus Operation are charged to carry out their mission of exploration and diplomacy on the other side of a partially collapsed wormhole - 50,000 LY from Earth! The Outer Perseus arm of the galaxy is ripe with surprises.

2383: The USS Poseidon, part of Carrier Group One (including the Prometheus class USS Shran and USS Tethys) is put under command of Commodore Travis Christopher. With the USS Swiftsure, under command of Commodore Paula Chapman Stark, the four ships soon find themselves stranded on the other side of a partially collapsed wormhole.

2385: Much has happened in Outer Perseus. Personnel can now move through the Ventresca Wormhole thanks to the Translift. The Perseus Complex; containing the Translift, a communication array and repair facilities has been built. The newly formed Alliance of Planets has granted the Federation a small territory around the wormhole, called the Federation Cube. The Xin mechanoids are now allied for most of them, but the frightful Kells are preparing to conquer the galaxy, one arm at a time... starting with Outer Perseus.

In the middle of all this, a K'Tan faction steals a 200,000 year old Elosian egg, holding the last one of a kind that was once the most advanced species in the Outer Perseus. As Headquarters refuse to pursue on diplomatic concerns, Commodore Christopher resigns and, followed by his Senior Staff, starts a quest to retrieve the Egg.

Commodore Paula Chapman Stark the only Flag officer in Outer Perseus, was put in charge of Carrier Group One and reassigned in command of the USS Poseidon.

The Kell war begins with attacks on numerous locations in the Outer Perseus - including the Perseus Complex. The combined Alliance is successful in closing a subspace portal the Kells were using to enter the Milky Way Galaxy.

2386 While investigating an earlier discovered network of portals, the Poseidon is transported several hundred light years from the Perseus Complex. The area is nicknamed the "White River Expanse" due to the large swath of new stars in the area.

After exploring the "White River Expanse" for a few months the Poseidon was recalled to the Perseus Complex. Upon arrival it was announced that Commodore Stark was being re-assigned to the Farlong Reefs Sector closer to the Federation Core; and presented with a new Avalon-class vessel, the USS Avalon.
